2nd President of the Continental Congress, November 4, 1782 – November 2, 1783.  Born: May 2, 1740; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Death: October 24, 1821, Burlington, New Jersey.  Education: Studied law as a legal apprentice to Richard Stockton.  Stockton was later a signatory of the Declaration of Independence.  Boudinot was a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives, New Jersey’s At-large district: March 4, 1789 – March 4, 1795.  In the early stages of the Revolutionary War, he was active in promoting enlistment; several times he loaned money to field commanders to purchase supplies.  Boudinot helped support the activities of rebel spies.
