44th President of the United States, Democrat. January 20, 2009 – January 20, 2017. Born: August 4, 1961, Honolulu, Hawaii. First black President of the United States. First President born outside the continental United States. U.S. Senator from Illinois, 2005-2008. Member of the Illinois Senate, 1997-2004. Received the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize, the fourth president to be awarded the prize, the third to receive it while in office. After graduating from Columbia University, but before attending Harvard Law School, Obama served as a Community Organizer from Chicago, and he has continued his radical community organizer activism in his post-presidential life.
