This Week: Mr. Constitution Hour by Douglas V. Gibbs: Truth Self-Evident — Do you think the Founding Fathers would recognize today’s America? What about truth? The Declaration of Independence indicates that the Founding Fathers were operating on truth, self-evident truth, and that they were putting the truth out there for the world to see. Today, truth is based on narrative, not natural law or the natural order of things. We face censorship for misinformation, disinformation, and anything else that does not fit a particular narrative. Even when it comes to hurricanes, the enemies of the Constitution has proclaimed that any argument that does not support that they are doing their job is misinformation, as they sent corded electric chainsaws to North Carolina to help them cut away the trees that have fallen on power lines so that they can, you know, get electricity. Meanwhile, Michigan’s Governor Whitmer is mocking Christian Communion in a video with a leftist writer, and then later laughs about post-birth abortion. It’s worse than a narrative. It’s worse than communism. These people are stupid — and evil. That is a taste of this week’s program, as well as Doug talking about the upcoming election and the antics of the Democrats and their leftist allies.
