sucking money from your wallet

A train wreck tried to blast its way through the Halls of Congress, and President-Elect Donald J. Trump called the proposed continuing resolution the piece of garbage it is.  Are the Democrats and anti-Trump Republicans really happy with roping themselves to the tracks as the train comes barreling around the corner?  The purveyors of the stop-gap bill claim it is necessary to avert a government shutdown, and somehow we are supposed to believe them.  We know they lie.  We know the old guard is all about themselves.  That’s what the election was all about.  We know they are about enriching themselves and preserving government power – also known as feeding the leviathan.  And then, just to make it even more dubious, the continuing resolution would delay the budget madness and require more fights on the floor of Congress in March (a couple months into Trump’s presidency).  The thing is weighed down with provisions that add up to being a ridiculous woke and progressive wish-list, and sticking a stick in the eye of the voters who have been proclaiming, “Enough is enough!”

J.D. Vance, Vice President-Elect, released a joint statement from him and Trump criticizing the Continuing Resolution, adding that the bill is not just about the budget, but has in it things like making it easier to hide the records of the corrupt January 6 committee.

Yet, the Republicans and Democrats are both pushing a bill that literally ignores the fact that Trump won the last election.  It, in fact, seems like it is purposely designed to sabotage the new administration and make it harder for the Trump team to get things going after Inauguration Day.

According to the statement released by Vance, the spending bill “would give sweetheart provisions for government censors and for Liz Cheney…the bill would also give Congress a pay increase while many Americans are struggling this Christmas…If Democrats won’t cooperate on the debt ceiling now, what makes anyone think they would do it in June during our administration? Let’s have this debate now. And we should pass a streamlined spending bill that doesn’t give Chuck Schumer and the Democrats everything they want.”

Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) said that the bill is “full of pork” and reveals that House Speaker Johnson (R-LA) is a “weak, weak man.”

Dick Durbin argues he needs the boost in pay…you know, because things cost more and inflation is out of control (he said out of one side of his mouth) after he proclaimed out of the other side of his mouth in the near past that “Bidenomics is working.”

He reminds me of the dude who sits at home complaining he’s short on money, but doesn’t work.

I think they are trying to sabotage the Department of Government Efficiency before the ribbon gets cut in January.  It’s like hoping to gum up the works of a machine so that you can’t shut it down, nor get it to work properly.

Much of the bill is an attempt to Trump-proof the Democrats and GOP members who dared to stand against the incoming President.  Do they not know that the incoming Republican Congress which will have a majority can pass law themselves to replace this one?

The Continuing Resolution also dips into the past, expanding emergency authorities to violate the Constitution the next time another scamdemic merges.  That way, it’ll be easier to shove needles into your arms, force you to wear face diapers, and enact vaccine passport requirements.

As if RFK Jr. isn’t going to be in Washington the next time they try that crap…

Don’t they realize this is the type of stuff that knocked them out of power in the first place?  It’s like a sports team having back to back losing seasons, and then calling for more of what is causing them to lose.  “Hey, I’ve got an idea.  Let’s throw more interceptions.  That’ll turn this thing around!”

Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, the guys who will be running the Department of Government Efficiency, are likely going through each page line by line and are coming up with all kinds of ways to kill it and anything like it in the near future.  The whole thing is a betrayal, and the Trump team is pointing out all of the betrayals.  Do the lefties not realize that nobody believes them anymore and everyone is watching their idiocy and that the next election will get worse for them if they continue this garbage?

There is a body watching what they are doing, and watching more closely now than they have in the past – it’s called The Court of Public Opinion.  The power-players in government are not operating with impunity.  The American People have been alerted, and are willing to continue to throw the bums out if necessary.

Trump and Vance are calling for the bill to be dropped, and I think Plan B may be on the horizon.  I’m just not sure that this group of legislators is capable of an acceptable alternative.  If that is true, then we might have to … GASP … suffer a government shut-down – except this time, for once, the Democrats will get blamed for it.

The old tactics don’t work anymore.  I thought they figured this out a month ago after watching the election numbers role in.
