One week after Donald Trump took the oath of President of the United States the press has changed. No longer pressured by a regime demanding that the mainstream media play their propaganda game, the line between those we can trust and those we cannot trust is becoming clearer. To be honest, I believe people are simply tired of being lied to.
The reality is, I am fine with a liberal media spewing their version of the story. During the early years of the United States the media outlets, newspapers back then, definitely took one side or the other. Media outlets taking political sides is not the problem. It’s when they collude with government that it becomes a problem.
John Adams went after those who went against him through the Alien and Sedition Act, and his law enforcement supporters and courts went so far as arresting and jailing Congressman Matthew Lyons for writing an opinion piece in a newspaper loyal to Thomas Jefferson — a move that would later see Lyons heading to Congress straight out of jail to vote against Adams and his sort of ally Aaron Burr, making Lyons’ vote move Vermont to the Jefferson side making it one of the votes that ended up securing the presidency for Jefferson.
The problem was, the Alien and Sedition Act was against the First Amendment, making it unconstitutional. Congress shall make no law abridging the freedom of the press.
That doesn’t mean the opposite extreme is in force and the press can write or say anything they want. We do have laws against libel and slander. But, the constitutional provision is there to stop government from interfering with or colluding with the media.
In today’s society, even during the first week of Trump’s presidency, we are finding out how many times the Biden Administration and the Democrats have manipulated the press, and used the press for the sake of pushing their leftwing narrative.
I believe in the coming months we are going to see how deep that collusion truly went. Was federal money being used to encourage media to put out certain things to target the opposition of Biden? Were stories being killed, or encouraged, through government pressure? When Elon Musk bought Twitter we learned about how much collusion was going on prior to that moment. Mark Zuckerberg admitted recently that Biden’s team not only encouraged Facebook to operate in certain ways and censor their users, but members of the Biden White House would call and scream at Facebook employees when certain narratives weren’t pushed or denied.
The Democrats are known for their fondness of social engineering, and the government influence through the media to achieve those ends are exactly why the First Amendment includes a “Freedom of the Press” clause. It’s one thing for the press to agree or disagree with a particular political party’s agenda or policies, but it’s another when the two work together to ensure a particular message is put out.
How ominous is it for money and influence to be transferred by the United States Government to various media outlets and social media platforms for the purpose of influence, and large scale social deception? And we ask, how many of them are on the take or were receiving collusive data from the Biden Administration? CNN? MSNBC? The alphabet legacy networks? Associated Press? The New York and Los Angeles Times? Politico? Reuters? How many payments were made, and messages sent, to ensure that the ruling party’s message was the one on the burner?
With Elon Musk heading DOGE, and Trump in place, I have a feeling that the you know what is about to hit the fan.
We’ve seen it arise to the surface using excuses and names that they hope you won’t realize connects the government to violating the Constitution in such an insidious manner: Misinformation; Disinformation; don’t worry little pawns, they’re simply trying to protect you from opposing social engineering by stopping those horrible people from spreading disinformation by stopping disinformation.
Have they not recognized that the “stopping misinformation” and “stopping disinformation” game by colluding with the press is in direct violation of the Freedom of the Press clause in the First Amendment? Of course they have, but if it’s in an emergency situation to save you from that horrible Trump and his minions, it’s all okay…right?
I don’t care how positive one’s motives are; it’s unconstitutional and dangerous. As C.S. Lewis once wrote, “Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive.” – C.S. Lewis
