Ever wonder if the federal alphabet agencies are constitutional?  What makes them constitutional, or outright illegal?  When it comes to anything the federal government does it all comes down to whether or not the authorities are enumerated (listed) in our founding document, the U.S. Constitution.  The concept is known as the “Enumeration Doctrine.”  In short, like your doctor with his list you sign of things he’s allowed to perform while you are in his office, the federal government’s powers are limited to the authorities that appear in the Constitution, which is a social contract.

So, that brings us back to the alphabet agencies.  Are their powers enumerated?

EPA? There are no authorities listed regarding the environment, therefore, it’s an unconstitutional agency.

FBI? Basically the federal government does have the authority to have an investigative arm regarding issues they have enumerated powers regarding, but then we must ask if the FBI is only investigating those particular issues.

FDA? There are no authorities listed regarding food or drugs.  The FDA is an unconstitutional agency that is acting in a manner that should be left up to each individual State.

DOT?  Transportation is not an authority, again, unconstitutional.

I am not going to go through all of them, but I think you get the point.  Is their function authorized?  If not, the department needs to be done away with.  Like the IRS, ATF, Department of Education….
